Hi there. I am Pam Carr and I have been creating things since I was a child. I began knitting in Brownies and crocheting came later when my two oldest children were babies. I also began doing macrame at that time and later added weaving wall hangings to my fibre art activities.
I live on the beautiful west coast of British Columbia and while building a natural home on Mayne Island I started crocheting obsessively and opened my Carroway Crochet Etsy shop.
Why Carroway Crochet you may ask? I chose the name Carroway for my business as it combines the surnames of both my father and my mother. His family name was Carr and my Mum’s was Galloway. Taking the Carr name, and adding the ‘oway’ from the end of Galloway, I created Carroway. And it rhymes with Crochet so that is how I came up with my name. Now of course I don’t just crochet, as I have begun knitting again. But life is always changing and that is ok.
It is currently a one woman show and I crochet and knit all the physical products, I design patterns, find testers and publish the patterns to Etsy, Ravelry and LoveCrochet. I take the pics and create the listings for my Carroway Crochet Etsy shop and run all my social media, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. I have recently started my YouTube channel and so I am filming and editing the video, creating the thumbnails and promoting the videos the best I can.
Now I am so excited to finally be getting my blog going and I am learning how to use Word Press, which is a new system for me.
Carroway Crochet was begun to serve the needs of crocheters and those who desire modern crochet accessories to enhance their daily lives and lifestyle. It was founded in January, 2015 and I am proud to be blogging on my new website here at www.carroway.com on the fifth anniversary of my fledgling company.
If you have any questions or ideas for me regarding how I could meet peoples needs better, I am open to your feedback. Don’t hesitate to email me or comment on my posts. Thank you and enjoy my blog.
