Design Inspiration for my Santa Christmas Gift Card Holder.
Lots of people opt for gift cards for giving throughout the holiday season. Usually these cards are popped into an envelope along with a Christmas card as a way of presenting them to a friend or family member. Often the cards get set down somewhere and can easily be misplaced during the chaos of the the festivities. Having a brightly coloured Christmas gift card holder makes it easier to spot and also you can hang it on the tree for safe keeping if you attach a yarn loop to it. I just think they are such a great idea to have something attractive to present the gift card in and also to make it easier to keep track of.
So I have been brainstorming different ideas for what kind of a gift card holder I wanted to make and thought I would add this item to the festive design line up. I have a granny stripe design one called the Christmas Festive Gift Card Holder. You can also check out my Mitten Gift Card Holder and my Striped Mitten Card Holder patterns.

Buckle:
Sew a yellow/gold buckle onto the black belt with a yarn needle.
I used some gold Bernat Blanket yarn I had handy but you can use a bulky yarn for your buckle. You can also double up some worsted weight (4) yarn, using two strands together on your yarn needle would work well.
I used the embroidery back stitch for my buckle. This video explains it very clearly.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
