Size:
The finished star measures 9” (22 cm) tall and 9 “(22 cm) wide.
The wall hanging with the hanging chain at the top and the tassel attached to the bottom is 20” long.
Round 1: ch 2, 10 dc in ring, tighten to close, join with sl st to the top of the ch2
Round 2: ch 1, sc in the same stitch, *[2 dc, tr, ch 2, sc in top of tr (picot), 2 dc] in next stitch, sc in next st.* repeat between * and * 4 more times. Join with sl st to first sc.
Fasten off and weave in ends
Attach yarn to the picot loop at the top point of the star and ch 14, sc into the 4th ch to make a loop for hanging your star. Fasten off and weave in the end.
Tassel.
Cut 7, 14” strands of yarn. You can use a 7” long cardboard template for this. I used a book to wrap the yarn around 7 times and then cut across the bottom to create the individual strands.
Holding the ends together, take a 14” piece of yarn and thread through the top loop and tie all the strands together with a knot. You will have two ends after tying your knot.
Let one end drop down to join the other tassel strands. Using the other yarn end, wrap it around the bundle of strands 1“down from the folded top, binding them together and creating the top of the tassel. Thread it back up through the top of the tassel and use to attach your tassel to the bottom of the star.
Now you can hang up your Star of Wonder Wall Hanging.
