Introducing my Throw Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

Hi everyone. I am so excited to share this new free throw blanket crochet pattern with you. The Rusty Throw Blanket has a beautiful texture created by the sedge stitch. Make it in a solid colour or you could even use your stash to create a striped blanket.
I have been wanting to make one of these highly textured blankets as they make a wonderful addition to your home decor, just drape it over the back of a couch.
I love the stitch pattern used in this Free Throw Blanket Crochet Pattern.  It makes for a  light and airy blanket and is right on trend.  This throw blanket wraps you in a cloud of softness.
I have used a super bulky acrylic Bernat Blanket yarn, but any super bulky yarn will work.

Description of my Throw Blanket Free Crochet Pattern.

The Rusty Throw Blanket is created using the sedge stitch, which uses the single crochet, half double and double crochet stitches. This blanket uses a one row repeating pattern to create the interesting texture and feel of this gorgeous blanket.
Using Bernat Blanket yarn with this Throw Blanket Free Crochet Pattern means that your blanket will be super soft and snuggly. This yarn is so wonderful and created especially for blankets. They make fantastic gifts as they make up so quickly. It is a super bulky yarn and you will use an N 10mm hook to make this blanket

Don’t forget to pin it for later so you don’t lose it.

Design Inspiration for my Throw Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

I wanted to create a  modern blanket design that would be a  simple pattern for beginners.
You can make The Rusty Throw Blanket using the single, half double and double crochet stitches in a special way that creates the sedge stitch.
The inspiration for this free throw blanket crochet pattern came from seeing all the super chunky blankets being shared on Pinterest and social media.  I love the sedge stitch and have used it in many wraps and home decor patterns. I thought I would see how it looked in a blanket and decided on  a Throw Blanket as it is perfect for using in the home as a decor item or for keeping nice and cozy when relaxing.
You can get the printer friendly ad free PDF from my Ravelry shop.
