Chemo treatments are such a difficult time for so many and its alway nice to have something special to wear to make you feel a little better.

The Irene Beanie is an Easy Crochet Chemo Cap Pattern and it was created especially for the 2025 Crochet for Cancer Challenge hosted by Sweet Potato 3 Designs. This So Soft Irene Beanie Crochet Chemo Cap Pattern is dedicated to my late mother in law, Irene, who sadly passed away from Lymphoma. I made this hat in green as lime green represents lymphoma.

This  Beanie makes up so soft and it is the perfect project for someone needing a pretty hat to wear while having chemo treatment, but it  is also great for an season as it is so stylish.  I used the soft  Caron Latte Cakes yarn for my Irene Beanie. It a bulky weight (5) yarn and it is variegated so you get lots of beautiful shade of green and grey green.

It is also available as a pdf in my Ravelry Shop.

  1. Thanks for the pattern! What a great concept.

I am giving it a try and am not sure how there are only 18 spaces at the end of round 4. Aren’t there two for every cluster in the previous row?

    1. hi therel RIght at the end of round 4 you only do 3dc not the (2 dc, ch1, 2 dc) and this makes is 18 spaaes. I had to do that to make it work out. It is easy to miss as you just automatically think it follows to repeat to the end. I hope this helps you.
