Description of Bruno’s Bandana:

Theis bandana is created from the bottom pointed end up which makes it the perfect project to do while chilling with a movie. Once you have got into the rhythm of the granny stripe stitch and how you increase on each row, you just keep going.
This free dog bandana pattern uses the granny stripe stitch. I chose the granny stripe stitch as it is a simple stitch that creates such a high impact. The texture it creates is quite magical.
Bruno’s Bandana is 22 ” wide approximately and 11″  long down to the point ( not including the ties). Of course you can customize it by adding extra stitches for added width and length.
Bruno’s Bandana is a (4) worsted weight triangle bandana pattern and is perfect for advanced beginners as well as advanced crocheters. It has such a beautiful granny stripe texture.

Dog Bandana Free Crochet Pattern

Introducing Bruno’s Bandana, a great triangle bandana perfect for beginners to make for their pet.

This is a fun accessory for your favourite pet. I designed this for a large dog but you can customize it for a smaller pet.

I used worsted weight (3) yarn, or Aran weight if you are in the UK.

You make this bandana with the Granny Stripe Stitch which uses the double crochet stitch.

Finished size:  22″ at the widest point at the top edge of the shawl and 11” from the top to the bottom of the shawl not counting the ties.
Note: To customize size:  For smaller dogs, fewer rows are needed; for larger dogs, continue adding rows until the top edge goes round the dog’s neck, leaving enough space to tie.

Supplies you will need:

Yarn: #4 worsted weight yarn, (Aran in the UK)
For my Bruno Bandana, I used a yarn from my stash that is sadly discontinued, (Bernat POP- Rainy Day) but any #4 weight yarn will work.  Each cake is 5 oz/140g and 280yds. / 256m.
