The Cozy Preemie Baby Blanket.
Free Crochet Pattern:
A free crochet pattern for this preemie blanket
It is time for another preemie baby blanket.
Premature babies, often referred to as ‘preemies,’ require extra care and attention due to their underdeveloped systems. This means that a crochet quick preemie blanket is always welcomed especially in the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).

About the Cozy Preemie Blanket Pattern.
I am so excited to share this new Preemie baby blanket free crochet pattern with you. The Cozy Preemie baby blanket is here on my blog as a free crochet pattern. It is beginner friendly and you will be surprised how easy it is. I used a worsted weight (4) yarn for the preemie blanket.
I was inspired to make this Cozy Preemie Blanket as a chance to highlight using the moss stitch as a design feature. I love how it creates the interesting texture. A Cozy preemie blanket also makes fabulous gift.
This is an easy crochet project which will give you sense of accomplishment once it is completed. Having a quick and meaningful project to crochet with love is a beautiful thing.
The gorgeous texture of the Cozy Preemie Blanket is created by repeating rows where you make a single crochet and then making a ch1, skip a stitch and then make a single crochet in the ch1 space below. I have videos showing how to make the moss stitch you can use if you like a visual tutorial.
This Cozy Preemie Blanket uses the single crochet stitch, which is a beginner friendly stitch. You can also use the single crochet stitch for larger baby blankets as well as throw blankets.

Do You Love Making Baby Blankets.
Lately I have been making quite a few crochet projects that are for babies. Some of my favourite things to design are baby blankets. They are smaller than full size blankets and are so much quicker to make. They also make great gifts for new mothers.
If you too like to crochet baby blankets, you might like some of my other designs here on my blog. For instance you might like to check out the Bobble Preemie Blanket, or my Oh So Soft Baby Blanket or Sara’s Baby Blanket.
What skill level will I need for this crochet preemie blanket pattern?
This pattern is pretty beginner friendly. As long as you have some basic crochet skills, you will be able to make this preemie blanket. The single crochet stitch is one of the beginner crochet stitches. I have a step by step description of how to the single crochet stitch on my YouTube Channel, so I hope you get yourself some beautiful, super soft yarn and get started on your own Cozy Preemie Blanket.
Are you a visual learner? New to the Moss Stitch.

Looking for some Fantastic Crochet Gifts Ideas!
The Cozy Preemie Blanket makes a special baby shower gift.
This blanket is made with worsted weight yarn so it makes a thicker blanket that is usually made for a preemie baby. I used a K hook so the feel of the blanket is soft and cozy. It is like making a chunky blanket for this tiny newborn. Who wouldn’t want a lovely soft handmade crochet blanket.
