Hi everyone. I am so excited to share this new free crochet pattern with you. The Crochet Water Bottle Holder pattern makes up so fast and is also a great stash busting project. Make it in a solid colour or using lots of your stash to create a rainbow one. You can use cotton or acrylic yarn for this pattern. I love the red white and blue combo too.
There is an inexpensive PDF download option available over at Ravelry if you prefer a printed pattern.
The Dilemma of “What to do with the Water Bottle?”
Just pop it into one of these handy dandy crochet water bottle holders. Immediately your hands are free and you aren’t forever trying to remember where you put your water bottle down.
Do you use your insulated water bottle for other beverages too? These holder would also be great for herbal tea holders and energy drinks you might have. Standard commercial water bottles also fit in them.
Because of the stretch and give in these crochet water bottle holders, they work for most water bottles on the market.
Description of my Crochet Water Bottle Holder:
This water bottle holder is made from the bottom up with the double crochet stitch and the mesh stitch for the body. There are simple instructions as to how the base is made and the double crochet stitch is so beginner friendly. It is made in the round so there are no seams to sew up.
There are so many colour combinations you can use that will give it a different feel and vibe. If you are looking for a great gift for friends and family, look no further. These crochet water bottle holder are so quick and easy to make with your favourite acrylic of cotton worsted weight yarn. They are popular with those always on the go. As summer approaches you want to ensure you are hydrating regularly and it is a good idea to alway have your water handy. The great thing about this design is that you can make it as tall as you like, and so customize it to meet your needs.
Design Inspiration for my Crochet Water Bottle Holder.
I was inspired to come up with my Crochet Water Bottle Holder Pattern by a need in my community. I have a stall at the Mayne Island Farmer’s Market and last summer I had so many people asking me for water bottle holders that I knew I had to come up with something.
My first pattern was successful and really popular and I sold so many at the market and had lots of happy return customers. You can see some of them in the picture below, along with my Everyday Market Bags. I added a fringe to the bottom of some of the water bottle holders for extra fun.
However, when I went to make a striped version, with rainbow colours for a festival type bottle holder, this pattern that worked in a spiral was not great for the colour changes, as you can see below.
So I adapted my pattern and came up with the new and improved Crochet Water Bottle Holder Pattern which I am sharing with you today. This method of working up in individual rounds eliminates the ugly colour changes.

All About the Yarn.
For this pattern for my Crochet Water Bottle Holder I decided to use Red Heart Super Saver yarn. It comes in lots of great colours and is very hard wearing. You can however substitute any worsted weight yarn you have available to make these holders. Just look for the (4) on the label.
Colourways:
Red Heart Super Saver yarn is available in a wide variety of shades, including neutrals, brights, and pastels. It is such a user friendly yarn and just great for making these crochet water bottle holders.
Red Heart Super Saver yarn is a medium weight worsted weight yarn with a number 4 on the label.

Another big plus for this yarn is that it is so easy to care for. This yarn is conveniently machine washable and dryable for easy care.

Along with the double crochet you will learn to skip a stitch and dc into the next st in order to create the net effect that is used for the sides of this bottle holder.
