Free Blanket Crochet Pattern: The Snonomo Blanket

Meet the Snonomo Blanket

This Free Blanket Crochet Pattern works up so soft, chunky and cozy.  Made with soft and squishy Bernat Blanket yarn in this classic contemporary neutral, Vintage White, it adds a modern touch to your home.  It is perfect for snuggling up with a good book or watching a movie. Also great to keep warm while working on a project of your own!

I love the stitch pattern used in this Free Blanket Crochet Pattern.  It makes for a  light and airy blanket and is right on trend.  This blanket wraps you in a cloud of softness.

I have used a super bulky acrylic Bernat Blanket yarn, but any super bulky yarn will work.

Introducing my Free Blanket Crochet Pattern

Hi everyone. I am so excited to share this new free blanket crochet pattern with you. The Snonomo Blanket makes up so fast as you use a super big crochet hook. Make it in a solid colour or you could even use your stash to create a rainbow blanket.
I have been wanting to make one of these chunky blankets as they look so great in everyone’s home decor photos, draped over the back of a couch. This is my version of a chunky, soft, throw blanket.

Description of my Free Blanket Crochet Pattern:

The Snonomo Blanket is created using the double crochet and treble (triple) crochet stitches. They are worked in a repeating pattern of rows to create the interesting texture and feel of this gorgeous blanket.
Using Bernat Blanket yarn with this Free Blanket Crochet Pattern means that your blanket will be super soft and snuggly. This yarn is so wonderful and created especially for blankets. They make fantastic gifts as they make up so quickly. It is a super bulky yarn and you will use a Q hook to make this blanket

Don’t forget to pin it for later so you don’t lose it.

Design Inspiration for my Free Blanket Crochet Pattern.

I wanted to create a  modern blanket design that would be a  simple pattern for beginners.
You can make The Snonomo Blanket using the double crochet and treble crochet stitches.
The inspiration for this free blanket crochet pattern came from seeing all the super chunky blankets being shared on Pinterest and social media. I looked into getting the really big roving in wool but it was just so cost prohibitive for me. So I started looking into alternatives and found this beautiful antique white Bernat Blanket yarn and fell in love with it. I also wanted something I could make quickly. I have so many things on the go I really find it hard to find the time to make a huge blanket with worsted weight yarn right now, even though there are so many gorgeous patterns out there. I usually just make a baby blanket or work with super bulky yarn and a large hook.
I arrived at this design for the Snonomo Blanket after several trial and error attempts and I hope you find it easy to make and something that will be useful to you as you as well as a beautiful addition to your home decor.
