Design Inspiration

Introducing the Sweet Mary Lap Blanket Pattern.  This blanket is named in honour of my mother, and was originally released as a pdf on her birthday, March 9.  I lost her in 2014 and she always sat with a lap blanket I had made for my dad, but that she took over when he passed away in 2000. That lap blanket was made with two strands of yarn and they both loved it. I still have that blanket to this day and it is a constant reminder that the things we make for others with love, have so much meaning to them.  They are treasured possessions.
This lap blanket  made with this super bulky yarn that is 20% wool and 80% acrylic, is so soft, chunky and cosy.  Made with three contemporary colours, it adds a modern touch to your home.  It is perfect for snuggling up with a good book or watching a movie. Also great to keep warm while working on a project of your own!
I love the stitch pattern used here as it makes it airy and is right on trend.
