Christmas Tree Garland: Free Crochet Pattern

It is time to Deck the Halls and one way you can do that is with a decorative Christmas Tree Garland.
Here is my Christmas Tree Garland, just one of the garlands I have designed for this coming Christmas Season.
I made mine using some different colours for my trees, but you can use all green or white or whatever your feel best suits your home decor over the festive season.

Description of my Christmas Tree Garland.

Christmas Tree Garland

This  Christmas Tree Garland is five individual crocheted Christmas trees made using mostly the simple  double crochet stitch for the body of the tree. The final row brings in the single crochet, half double crochet and also the treble crochet stitch to create the curve at the bottom of the tree. The trunk is made with the single crochet stitch using a contrasting colour.
There are so many colour combinations you can use that will give it a different feel and vibe.  For a classic look to your Christmas Tree Garland,  go with all green, but you could use pale blues and whites and even silver and gold for the wintery frosty look. Then if you are all about colour use all the bright colours to keep things cheerful.

Don’t forget to pin this Christmas Tree Garland for later so you don’t lose it.

The trees in the pictures are made with various shades of green using Brava Worsted Weight Yarn. I also added a white, snow covered tree made with Red Heart Super Saver Yarn.
For the trunk you will need a brown or contrasting colour.
You can use up any worsted weight yarn from your stash.

Instructions:

 For the Tree body.

Note: The turning chain does not count as a stitch.
Begin with a magic loop.   Or you may Chain 4 and sl st into first stitch to make a small circle instead if you do not know how to make a magic loop.
Row 1: Ch 2, make 4 dc into your magic loop or the small circle space you created with your ch4.  Turn work (4 dc stitches)
Row 2: Ch2, dc into the 1st st and into each st across, turn work. (4dc)
Row 3: Ch 2, 2dc into the first st, dc into each of the next 2 sts, 2dc into the last st. Turn work. (6 dc)
Row 4: Ch 2, 2dc into the first st, dc into each of the next 4 sts, 2dc into the last st. Turn work. (8 dc)
Row 5: Ch 2, 2dc into the first st, dc into each of the next 6 sts, 2dc into the last st. Turn work. (10 dc)

Row 8: Ch 1, 2sc into the first st, sc into the next st, hdc into each the next 2 sts, dc into each of the next 2 sts, tr into each of the next 2 sts, dc into each of the next 2 sts, hdc into each of the next 2 sts, sc in to the next st, 2sc into the last st. (16 dc)
Fasten off, weave in ends.

For the Tree Trunk.

Attach brown yarn between the second double crochet stitch and the first treble crochet stitch.
Row 1: Ch1, sc into the next 2 sts turn work.
Row 2: Ch1 sc into the base of the ch1, sc into the next 2 sts.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Make 5 trees for this 5 foot long garland.
If you want a longer garland you can make as many trees as you like and adjust your chain cord to hold all your trees.

The Garland Cord.

I used white yarn for my cord.
Chain 200 for your chain. Fasten off the ends with a knot and leave a 2” or 3” tail on each end.
Use a yarn needle to thread the chain through the middle of the 4 double crochets on the tops of the trees and position them by sliding them along the chain to where you want them to be.
