Description of Nick’s Night Cap:

Nick’s Night Cap  is a striped stocking night cap style hat and it is made with the simple double crochet  stitch so it is beginner friendly. It is made in the round so there are no seams to sew up. And there is an awesome yarn pom pom for an extra flourish.
There are so many colour combinations you can use to make this stocking night cap that will give it a different feel and vibe.  This hat can also act as a scarf as it is so long.

Don’t forget to pin it for later so you don’t lose it.

The great thing about this design is that you can make it as long as you like, and so customize it to meet your needs.
There are instructions on how to make it longer in the pattern.

Design Inspiration for Nick’s Night Cap

Last year I was approached with a request to make a SUPER LONG stocking night cap. I always love a fun challenge and after much trial and error I came up with this pattern. The one I made for Nicholas was in blue and white stripes and it went down to his knees. It was everything we dreamed off and we were both so happy with the outcome.

Well now is the time to finally get the pattern onto my blog and share it with you.

All About the Yarn.

For my Stocking Night Cap pattern I decided to use Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick as it is so soft and comes in some great  colours, as well as in Cranberry and Fisherman (soft white). Great colours for a Christmas/Winter project. Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn is so versatile and can be used in so many different types of projects. It has the feel, warmth and softness of wool with the easy care of acrylic yarn. This yarn is so popular with makers as it is perfect for extra warm sweaters, jackets, vests, slippers and hats. It’s an ideal beginner yarn.

I have used this in the past  for my Chunky Beanie pattern, which is free here on my blog and also in my Etsy shop.  I also. used this amazing yarn for my Short and Chunky Fingerless Gloves  pattern which is here on my blog . It is also great for making my Warmest Feel Ever Slippers, which is also free here on Carroway Crochet.

Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick is a super bulky weight yarn with a number (6) on the label. It is an acrylic/wool blend. 80% acrylic and 20% wool.

Care instructions for Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick.
