Do you love to steal a moment with a favourite book. I love to snuggle under a cozy blanket and have a quiet read. I usually end up using a piece of paper as a bookmark. Last year I designed by first bookmark pattern after see so many beautiful crochet bookmarks out there. Now I have a second one in my collection.

Here is my Star Bookmark Free Crochet Pattern, just in time for this coming Christmas Season.

Instructions:

For the Star.

How to crochet a small star

1. Start with a magic loop or ring.
I have a video on how to make the magic loop. T
Here is the right-handed version.

There is also a left-handed version.

Once you have made your magic ring you can start the star.

This five point star is worked entirely into the the magic ring or loop and then the loop is closed once all the points are completed.
To make the first point, ch1 and *sc, dc, ch2, dc*
Repeat between the * and the * 4 more times.  You now have the points of your star.

Pull the yarn tail of the magic loop as tightly as possible to close the hole in the centre. Join with a slip stitch into the top of the ch1.
Do not fasten off. You are moving straight on to the chained tail of the bookmark.

The Book Mark Tail

To make your tail,
1:  ch 38, sl st into the 3rd ch from the hook creating a loop, ch 1, turn your work,
2: sc into each of the 3 chains in the loop you just created and join back into the bottom of the chain with a slst.Fasten off, weave in end.
Weave in the end at the centre of your star.
I hope you enjoy your easy to make Christmas Star Bookmark.
