Description of The Double Pom Pom Baby Beanie pattern.

This beanie is a fitted hat and crocheted with super bulky yarn using the double crochet stitch for the body and the back loop only single crochet stitch to create the brim around the bottom so the hat fits snugly.
It is made using a top down method, so you can make it longer if you want to.  It really is a beginner friendly pattern and I would describe the skill level as Easy.

All About the Yarn

For my Striped Chunky Baby Beanie pattern I decided to use Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick as it is so soft and comes in some great  colours,.  I used Cranberry and Fisherman for the baby hat you see in the pictures.  Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn is so versatile and can be used in so many different types of projects. It has the feel, warmth and softness of wool with the easy care of acrylic yarn. This yarn is so popular with makers as it is perfect for extra warm sweaters, jackets, vests, slippers and hats. It’s an ideal beginner yarn.
I have used this yarn in the past  for my Freedom Beanie pattern, and also for my Short and Chunky Fingerless Gloves pattern which is here on my blog . It is also great for making my Warmest Feel Ever Slippers, which is also free here on Carroway Crochet.
Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick is a super bulky weight yarn with a number (6) on the label. It is an acrylic/wool blend. 80% acrylic and 20% wool.

Care instructions for Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick.

Machine Wash, Machine Dry.
The Lion Brand Website recommends you machine wash with the initial water temperature not exceeding 40C or 105F. No bleach product may be used with this yarn. A machine dryer may be regularly used at the hottest available temperature setting. Do not smooth or finish with an iron.

For those new to crochet, I have videos on my Carroway Crochet youtube Channel that will demonstrate the different stitches you will need. I have both left and right handed version available to help beginner crocheters.
