The Inspiration for my Fingal’s Fantastical Gloves Free Pattern.

The inspiration for my free striped  Fingal’s fingerless gloves came from wanting to create a longer wrist warmer style to a worsted weight pair of fingerless gloves. I also got the idea to try using just the front post double crochet stitch to make these glove and doing this makes them super thick with stretchy ribbing that hugs your hand so snuggly and cozyily.  I made mine with these colourful stripes as a design feature.
If you love fingerless gloves crochet patterns you may also be interested in my Short and Chunky Fingerless Gloves. These were so popular with my testers as they loved how quickly they made up. Another glove pattern that makes up quickly for the Christmas Season and is especially good for gifting is my Oh So Cosy Fingerless Gloves Pattern as well as the pretty Alice Fingerless Gloves.

This pattern is part of the International Crochet Month blog hop hosted by Marie at Underground Crafter!

This is a brand new pattern and why I decided to design these specific  fingerless gloves for this event  is because I wanted to try making something using the front post  double crochet stitch only. I actually threw in a couple of front post treble crochet stitches as well for added interest, but using only front post stitches creates such an amazing ribbed texture and really hugs the hand.

Instructions:

The instructions for both sizes are written below.
I have written two numbers to represent the number of stitches you will chain to start your project and also how many stitches you will have at the end of each row. The first number is for the small/medium, and the second number is for the medium/large size.
Eg: When you see Ch 24, (28) the 24 is for the small/medium size and the 28 is for the medium/large size.
Note: These gloves are crocheted in the round so you do not turn the work.
Hint: chain loosely if you find it hard to fit the hand into the glove.
