Welcome to the 2026 April Fools Freebies Crochet Event.

This is the 5th year of sharing free patterns in April. I am happy to be sharing lots of beautiful free spring crochet patterns with you.

There will be some foolish fun for everyone.   So I will be posting free patterns randomly throughout April.  This is a fun way to share my free patterns with you throughout April. 

There will be no rhyme or reason as to when they will be announced.

Why not put some extra foolishness back into April Fools.  I hope you enjoy this idea of me hosting a special pattern giveaway with a twist.

The April Fools Freebies pattern giveaway will run throughout April. I have gathered a collection of  my patterns that will  be randomly released as free downloads, one at a time  on unknown days throughout the month.  Each pattern will  be available as a free download for 2 days.

Freebie # 1: April 7th-8th

The Granny Stripe Summer Tank Top

The Granny Stripe Summer Tank Top is made up of two identical rectangles that are seamed down each side. You will use double crochet stitches to create the granny stripe in clusters of three.

I was inspired to make this Sunny Preemie Blanket as a chance to highlight using the back loop only stitch as a design feature. I love how it creates the interesting texture when used in alternate rows. A Sunny preemie blanket also makes fabulous gift.

The Herringbone French Press Cozy

I used a worsted weight yarn for this french press cozy and an H hook. I chose Loops and Threads Impeccable yarn as it really defines the herringbone stitch used to create this cozy. I think you will like the way it looks with the herringbone half double crochet stitch.

The Olivia Skinny Scarf

This is a simple yet trendy design and it is a simple pattern for beginners.

You can make this Skinny Scarf Free Crochet Pattern with the double crochet stitch and some chains.

The Pretty Picot Bralette Pattern

To make this bralette you will need to know how to double crochet and single crochet. The bralette is made by crocheting the two cups and then moving on to the bodice.  The ties are added when the bralette is sewn together.

The picot edging is actually not that tricky and adds such a great finish to the top.

The great thing about this design of this crochet pattern is that you can make the bodice as short or as long as you like, and so customize it to meet your needs.

 This is  a gorgeous beginner friendly Free Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern made with the granny stripe stitch and worsted weight yarn. I designed this baby blanket as a shower present. I thought these colours would make a gentle blanket perfect for a new babies cot or for a little one to lie on the floor on when it needs a good kick and practice learning to roll over.
