Description for my Oh So Merry French Press Cozy:

The Oh So Merry French Press Cozy is created in as a flat rectangle using the double crochet stitch and the half double crochet stitch,  with some single crochet and chaining involved. It fastens with a button on the top and ties at the bottom.
They make fantastic gifts and make up so quickly.
The great thing about this design is that you can add a statement button to make it totally unique.  Adding the snowflake applique also makes it special. I love embellishing my home decor items to make them unique.   You can see how I added heart appliques to my Mason Jar Cozies and my Mug Cozies.  So the sky is the limit if you want to personalize your cozy.

Design Inspiration for my French Press Cozy

The inspiration for my free French Press Cozy pattern came from the real life experience of a good friend of mine. She used a bodum or a French Press to make her coffee and was having issues keeping it warm. I had already created a pattern for my Cozy Chic Tea Cozy and tea cozies have been around forever. We realized we hadn’t ever seen cozies for a cafetiere or French Press before.  We got onto Etsy and sure enough there was such a thing.
I wanted to design something that would be a great Christmas Gift and that I could make quickly so I would be able to sell it at a reasonable price point at my local market and that would be attractive to market goers. Also something that was stylish and simple. The buttons or ties would be the features that made each cozy unique and different.

You can make a mug cozy with this video tutorial on my YouTube Channel. There is a right and left handed version of this tutorial available.

All About the Yarn.

For this pattern I decided to use Red Heart Super Saver yarn as it comes in so many vibrant and fun colours and can fit into any home decor style. Red Heart Super Save yarn is so versatile and can be used in so many different types of projects. I use it for some of my Dreamer Beanies and also for my Black and White Striped Cushion pattern. It is also great for Cozies for your Tea Pots, Mason Jars or even your mugs.
For my Oh So Merry French Press Cozy it meets two of my top needs. It is the right weight (4) and it comes in all the great Red Heart colours so it can be made to fit in with a Christmas theme

Colourways:

Red Heart SuperSaver yarn comes in 149 different colourways. 149!!! It comes in solid, prints and multis, flecks and heathers, and striped colours. You don’t even have to worry about matching dye lots as the colours never deviate. It is such a user friendly yarn.
Red Heart Super Save is a medium weight worsted weight yarn with a number 4 on the label.
The solid colour skeins are 7 oz (198 grams) and approximately 364 yards (333 metres). If you get the striped colours then they run smaller weighing 5 oz (14 grams) and 236 yards approx, or 215 metres

Care instructions for Red Heart Super Saver.

Another big plus for Red Heart Super Save yarn is that it is so easy to care for.You can wash and dry it in your machines. It is suggested you wash it in warm water and tumble dry. Do not bleach or iron your project.
