Crochet Blanket Size Chart

I love making blankets. They are perfect projects when you are looking for something to work on while watching tv or whiling away a dark winter’s night.

Whenever I plan to make a blanket I find myself having to look for a chart to find out the recommended sizes for the type of blanket I wish to make. If you find yourself doing this then look no further as I have a chart for you with all the sizes for adult blankets here on this post. 

Is there a RIGHT Crochet Blanket Size?

When I started researching what size to make my blanket I quickly came to the conclusion that there is no regulation size for a crochet blanket. 

The first crochet blanket I ever made was for my Dad, whose legs used to get cold whenever he was sitting for a while. For this blanket ai just crocheted a chain long enough to go over my lap and then worked with double crochet and two strand of worsted weight yarn until it was long enough to cover my legs completely.

Most Crochet Blanket Sizes are Approximate.

Since those day I have moved on when designing blankets. I like to be able to make blankets to a specific purpose. This helps those looking for patterns to find something that suits their needs. 

I think this is why crochet blanket are separated into different categories. Having blankets named for their use  helps us know immediately the average size of the project we choose to make. 

If we want a blanket for a twin bed we need to know the dimensions that will ensure our blanket fits a single bed. 

Even so, not all patterns for Lapghans, or Queen Size beds are for the same size. There is no such thing as a standardized size for the blankets we make. 

This Crochet Blanket Sizes Chart seeks to inform you of the recommended size for your blanket project, if you vary the size by a few inches it will not make your blanket the “wrong” size.

My Crochet Blanket Sizes Chart.

I have been busy checking out all the crochet blanket sizes chart info out there and I have come up with one that hopefully makes sense to you. 

• My Crochet Blanket Sizes Chart goes from the smallest of the Adult blankets, the Lapghan, (sometimes called a Lap Blanket) up to the giant of them all, The King Size Bed Blanket. 

• I have included three throw sizes for you, with the most common one being in the middle.

• My Crochet Blanket Sizes Chart also has the sizes in inches and centimeters (centimetres) for you.

• The sizes read as width by length, so the first number is for how wide your blanket will be and the second number is for how long it will be.

Also remember that blankets don’t always have to be rectangular. Square blanket can be very popular, especially as a throw to add warmth and a cozy feel to your home. And there are even star blankets.
